To recap, I played through the first 50 events and got better along the way but found myself in a bad place just as I hit the halfway mark.

People always come up to me and ask for limited advice or more specifically, how to get better at limited, and I always end up just giving them some random advice on how to draft the format. It's not that I don't want to share information or knowledge, it's just that I really don't have an idea how I got "better" in the first place.

I've received a few comments regarding my last article, mostly on how it didn't focus too much on the strategy aspect of the game. I would like to clarify that this series isn't centered around strategy but is more of a casual blog. I don't have the time needed to research and fine tune articles geared towards teaching people how to better play the game. I'm here only for the purpose of entertainment, although I must admit I'm not that entertaining in the first place...

I did not have high hopes for this year's nationals. The fact that Worlds is going to be held in Memphis sucked out all the excitement as I wanted to play in Japan or some country in Europe. I was therefore leaning towards not playing but decided that playing Magic at a high level and hanging out with Team WTF, Team BT and other long time members of the community was a worthwhile way to spend the weekend.

Welcome back to another episode of Filipino Field Journal. The tales of one Filipino Magic player trying to reach a relative amount of success in the local gaming scene. The last time we left our bewildered protagonist, he was screwing himself out of the top 8 of two consecutive tournaments. Was he more successful in this week’s Grand Prix Trial for Bangkok?
Well, yes and no.
