quick questions lang:

1. What colors do you suggest ang magandang starting idea para sa picks? kasi i watched a few vids on utube, and sabi ng most experts, green is a weak/hard color to draft in zendikar,  pero one player also said if you get good green cards, by all means, take them. kasi most people don't like green, so mas makukuha mo daw ung cards mo. do these things hold true sa experience nyo?

2. Should i stick to being monocolor para mas malakas ung deck? like, mono red. it seems nice in zendikar draft. pero, what if you get a first pick choice between hideous end and burst lightning? ano criteria ng good first pick?

yun lang, thanks!

pareng alwyn,

1. yes, tama nga ang basa mo sa mga articles... most of them say that G is the worst color in ZEN and others suggest to turn that in ur favor by drafting G and get all the goodies... pakiramdaman lang yan

mono color is good and probably the best option mana-base wise... pero u still consider scenarios wherein ipinipilit mo yung color pero walang dumadating na good cards that another color offers... isipin mo din yung kunwari e mono blue ka na walang removal, etc...

you may also consider the mana fixing in the format... mejo konti lang... expe map lang ata ang common... (save for green cards)

2. its rare that a first pick would dictate instantly what color you should play... like opening a bomb rare say ob nixilis, sphinx of jwar isle and the like, you consider the color they are in but should not be relegated to it

as for your example, hideous and burst are both good in being the 1st pick, there are no bad options there... i guess... both colors are also overdraftedso its really your choice... i suggest you check the rare first... baka bomb o ... fetch!!! -- good job na first pick yun since wala ka pa namang basis on what you would need sa deck... gives you the funds to join another draft after... i cant consider it rare drafting since logical naman ang choice... (for first pick ah, tends to change in other scenarios)... pag ka draft mo ako, pasa mo sakin... hehehehe

Pushing mono is only good if you are given the opportunity. Forcing it and get subpar cards will only hurt you. You should probably figure out on pack 2 when majority of the cards are one color and you have nothing else worthy of splashing.

Black and red are the most common but as mentioned are over-drafted. Madalas dito lumalabas yung signaling. If you open a pack with 3-4 red cards, it's sometimes not the best option to pick red unless you have a gamebreaking bomb. Sending a glut of a certain color usually sends the wrong signal and you are in danger of getting your options dried up pretty early. Diskarte nalang talaga.

Pwede kang manood ng mga draft videos or read draft articles on certain Magic websites. Sa official site merong Draft Viewer to see how a certain pod drafted.

Speaking of the devil, try ko mamayang magsubmit ng article about common deck archetypes for drafting triple zendikar. One of the secrets kasi in building a good draft deck is having a concrete gameplan on what cards to draft.
